Tumunog ang Fire Alarm: False Alarm Ba Agad o Ano ang First Move ng Security Guard?

Last updated: August 27, 2026

Tumunog ang fire alarm.

Wala kang nakikitang usok sa post.

May nagsabi pa:

Acknowledge the alarm → Identify the alarm location if available → Follow the site's fire-emergency procedure → Notify and coordinate → Support evacuation or access control as assigned → Document the incident afterward.

2. I-identify ang reported location

Kung available ang alarm information, linawin:

  • anong floor;
  • anong zone;
  • anong room o area;
  • anong detector o alarm point;

“Sir, may alarm.”

Mas useful:

“Control, fire alarm activated, third-floor east wing. Verification and emergency procedure in progress.”

Verification Ba Muna Bago Evacuation?

Ang Bureau of Fire Protection's current fire-safety training materials recognize alarm-response systems in which designated personnel assess the alarm source and coordinate the appropriate emergency response.

Pero mahalagang distinction:

Verification must not become an excuse to delay obvious emergency action.

Kung may:

  • visible smoke;
  • visible flames;
  • strong burning smell;
  • explosion;
  • report of trapped or injured persons;
  • rapidly worsening condition;
  • o ibang clear indication ng fire;

follow the applicable emergency procedure immediately and coordinate with the proper responders.

  • smoke;
  • heat;
  • possible electrical hazard;
  • blocked visibility;
  • hazardous materials;
  • structural danger;
  • o ibang serious risk;

do not expose yourself unnecessarily.

The Revised Implementing Rules and Regulations of RA 9514 require appropriate facilities and instructions for immediate notification of the BFP in case of fire.

  • directing occupants toward the prescribed exit route;
  • keeping exit paths clear;
  • preventing unnecessary entry into affected areas;
  • guiding responders toward the correct location;
  • controlling crowd movement;
  • keeping fire lanes or responder access clear;
  • relaying verified information;
  • assisting with assembly-area control;
  • reporting persons who may still be unaccounted for.

RA 9514 prohibits obstructing exit ways, fire lanes, fire hydrants, and operations of the Fire Service or authorized fire brigades.

Paano Kung May Nagsabi: “I-reset Mo Na Lang”?

Mag-ingat.

Paano Kung False Alarm Talaga?

Maaaring kailangang ma-record:

  • date at time ng activation;
  • alarm zone o location;
  • sino ang na-notify;
  • sino ang nag-verify;
  • result ng verification;
  • instructions received;
  • time ng clearance;
  • reset or restoration status kung applicable;
  • recurring defect o unusual observation.

“At approximately 8:42 PM, the building fire alarm activated, indicating the third-floor east wing. Control room and the duty supervisor were notified. The site's prescribed fire-alarm response procedure was initiated. At approximately 8:50 PM, authorized personnel reported that no fire condition was found and the alarm was cleared for system restoration. Incident details were endorsed for follow-up.”

Common Mistakes

“Wala namang usok, false alarm.”

Verification must stay within safety limits, assigned role, at approved emergency procedure.

“I-reset agad para tumigil ang tunog.”

Alarm-system control should follow authorized procedure and incident status.

Kung required, documentation at turnover remain part of completing the incident response.

Tandaan

Kapag tumunog ang fire alarm:

Huwag agad mag-assume na false alarm.

Ang practical sequence ay:

Alarm → Location → Emergency Procedure → Notification → Coordination → Evacuation/Control as Assigned → Clearance → Documentation
